act One

Hélder was born in Berkeley, CA to an immigrant Portuguese couple. His childhood was filled with cultural events that have deeply instilled his heritage into who he is and everything he does. His father made sure that he would grow up to be a proud Portuguese-American.  

Act Two

Hélder spent his high school years living with his family in the beach town of São Martinho do Porto, Portugal. After graduating, Hélder returned to the United States to begin his college education. He loved making small independent movies as a hobby during this time. However suddenly and tragically, his father passed away which threw him into a deep depression. His sadness caused him to drop out of his general education classes.

act Three

After briefly working at a dead end job, Hélder realized that filmmaking is what lifted his spirits and it truly became his passion. So he quickly enrolled into film school. After graduating with honors, Hélder returned to the San Francisco Bay Area where he has been making high quality films ever since. Today, Hélder finds joy as a filmmaker promoting himself and his Portuguese heritage as well as with ALL of his amazing clients and collaborators who he has the privilege to work with.
